Taylor
Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop artists: one who was able to successfully cross the divide between country and pop, conquering the globe. Swift removed the influences of country in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin and revealed she was one of the best singers/songwriters of her generation. Swift could make the moment personal or harness it for her benefit. This was evident in her early hits including the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless showcased a songwriter discovering who she was and, in doing so, gaining the mass market. Fearless became a massive success not just in America with six singles were certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But it also smashed records across all over the world. Swift reached the heights of the charts when she released Speak Now. The next three years, her fame was growing through the years -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014), and 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as Swift entered the world of pop music in which her talent was already established. Even though she had slowed her production with folklore, and Evermore releases in 2020 she was nevertheless in the forefront of pop music.
