She graduated from the Germantown Friends School in the city of Germantown in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood in 1994. Then she attended Harvard College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1998. Welker is married to John Hughes a well-known marketing director at Merck at Philadelphia and the couple has two children. In 2014 they began having an affair with one other. John her husband is four years her junior. They decided to bring their relationship to a new level because it was getting so good. The 4th of March, 2017 they got married.
