Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Her move out of Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student to do so. After her graduation, she became a well-known right-wing syndicated reporter. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. It was possible for her to recruit several prominent contributors who posted their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. Apart from this she also directed the Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as the most influential women in media gaining 12th position on their listing and the following year Guardian named her to the top 100 of media lists. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL properties at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, a management consultant and journalist. Although she was a close friend to her father it was her bond with her mother that formed her character. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. In the year she turned 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic, and an anchor on TV. Also, she appeared on the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from him.
