Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin is a native of Canada and actress from New Zealand. She was born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington the city where she was born, she had her first appearance as an actor on screen in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian native New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded her the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the talkative and inquisitive young girl Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. The part of Flora McGrath - the daughter to the Scottish mute pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century was a part she won when she attended an audition for the role. When she was nine years old, she had little or any experience in acting. At the age of a teen the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in 1996. Also, she was the lead role in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin was the character Frankie Addams as a child in the television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin was also in the role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 film Amistad. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
